The life of a military wife: Deployments Military Photography

Many of us don’t know what it’s like to be a military wife. Even I didn’t at first. When were were in college and first dating I remember it was so hard to be away from him for a couple of days. NOW I go sometimes 12 months without seeing him. It’s a big change and definitely not for the faint at heart. We’ve made it through one deployment as newlyweds thanks to family and friends.

Now as they prepare for a second deployment I can’t help but wonder when that day will come. Many of the fellow military wives are already going through this. Many of their husbands are already deployed and my heart breaks for them. I know how hard and heart wrenching it can be. You can go days and even weeks not hearing from them. Never knowing if they are ok or if their spirits are up. It makes it worse to worry or think about it.. It helps to just keep your mind and hands busy….

I wanted to do these shots for a while now. They have so much emotion and power to them, words aren’t even necessary. I hope this helps the military wives out there who needs an extra pick me up. No matter how far away they are from us, they are always with us in our hearts….

“Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.”
